Honor String Ensemble
Competition
• | Competition is open to high school violin, viola, cello, bass and piano students (who will be completing 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade this year). |

• | Winners receive: | |
° Special placement in an advanced student/faculty string ensemble. | ||
° Daily intensive string ensemble rehearsals with coaching by faculty members. | ||
°Performance with faculty on Saturday’s faculty recital, as well as a student-only performance on Friday’s student recital. |
||
°A private lesson with a faculty member during camp. | ||
°Full tuition scholarship provided by the Sidney E. Frank Foundation. | ||
• | Winners will be chosen by performers/teachers not directly involved with the festival. | |
• | Literature will be selected by faculty after auditions are complete and sent to winners for advance study. |

• | Audition submission must be postmarked by Monday, February 24, 2025. | |

° $50.00 non-refundable registration fee (may be paid online or by postal mail) | ||
° Video Audition: Prepare two contrasting pieces that best represent your technical and musical ability, 10 minutes maximum. Upload your video as “unlisted” to YouTube, then share it with julie@rlmf.org |

° Letter from string teacher confirming student’s readiness for this experience | ||

• | Winners will be notified by March 31 and music delivered in early April. | |
• | Winners will audition live for orchestra placement the first Saturday of camp, preparing audition materials posted on this website as usual. |
