Sue Logan is principal oboe of the Billings Symphony Orchestra and serves on the faculties of MSU-
Billings, Rocky Mountain College and the Red Lodge Music Festival. Prior to 2001, Ms. Logan resided
in Colorado, where she was the principal oboist in the Cheyenne, WY Symphony and the solo English
horn player for the Ft. Collins Symphony and the Boulder Philharmonic. Ms. Logan has also played with
the Denver, Colorado Springs and Grand Junction Symphonies, the Central City Opera Orchestra, the
Boulder Bach Festival and the Colorado Music Festival Orchestra. Her college teaching in Colorado
included 2 years as adjunct at University of Colorado in Boulder, and 20 years as oboe and chamber
music instructor at Metropolitan State College (now University) of Denver. In Montana, Ms. Logan has
played with the Helena, Bozeman and Great Falls Symphonies as well as the Big Sky Festival Orchestra.
A graduate of the Juilliard School in Oboe Performance, Sue Logan has extensive chamber music
experience. Her performances with the Yellowstone Chamber Players and the Red Lodge Music Festival
have been broadcast on NPR’s Performance Today. Ms. Logan maintains a private teaching studio and
her secondary students regularly perform in the Montana All State Band and Orchestra. Since 2018, she
has served as the wind and percussion coach for the Billings Youth Orchestra.
